North is a leading marine liability insurer, providing P&I, FD&D, War Risks and ancillary insurance to shipowners worldwide. Based in Newcastle upon Tyne, where it was established in 1860, the company also has regional offices in Hong Kong, Japan, Piraeus and Singapore. Growth is based on the company’s core values of quality membership, service excellence and financial stability. North helps to protect and promote the interests of the ship-owning industry and has an “A” rating from the financial rating agency Standard & Poor’s.
We have designed developed North’s brand from 1998. Then its description was North of England Protection and Indemnity Association. Over time we advised them to become North of England and then after global expansion and acquisition to rename itself as North whilst retaining a redrawn P&I motif and underpinned it with its three core values, Serve, Strength and Quality.
A visual communications system enabled all departments to follow guidelines online and in print. In this new format we produced annual reviews, rule books, club magazines, newsletters, brochures, posters and stationery. When the company extended into larger offices we undertook photography of the building and all staff to project a modern, ambitious and progressive club with a strong business relationship ethic.
