Having started out in 1946, Hay & Kilner are now one of the leading law firms in the North East of England. They offer a complete commercial and personal legal service to clients – locally, nationally and overseas. We were asked to evaluate the need for change. After a series of interviews and a thorough visual audit of materials it became clear that their brand personality was too restrained to project a clear market presence.

The new brand establishes a stronger, more confident, modern positioning. It clearly represents who they are and complements their existing reputation. The ampersand soon became a vehicle for expressing difference and value. The website covers sectors, individuals and businesses with strong architectural, portrait and abstract photography.
