The challenge

North is one of the world’s leading mutual marine liability insurers providing specialist Protection and Indemnity insurance (P&I) to ship owners worldwide. Offering a clear point of difference in a competitive market is essential and as part of their future business they required a new, bolder brand personality and digital expression to clearly differentiate the company.

Digital Transformation: A New Confident Voice

Alongside the new brand identity and visual personality, The Roundhouse also designed and developed an industry leading and innovative new website that places members at the heart of their offering with a helpful prominent search and a variety of inventive functionality. The presentation and integration of the new brand was a key element in the launch of the website.

Personalising every journey

With the design and development of the new website, North needed a way for their members to find correspondents more intuitively.

Underpinned by real-time search and our personalised PDF generator tool, we implemented an enhanced tool that offers members the ability to create a personalised list of correspondents for their onward journey, all of which can be saved as a PDF for use offline, later.

Brand identity

Following an extensive stakeholder engagement and discovery phase, we redesigned the brand identity, considering the opinions of the global North audience, in order to understand the brand purpose and what it represents.

As part of this we delivered a suite of new assets and guidelines to articulate the personality of the brand, which a brand (including tone of voice), digital and photography guidelines. Creating these facilitated a swift and consistent roll out of the new brand identity globally.
