A world-leading research institution
Leading In Training And Education
The Heriot Watt School of textiles has a reputation as one of the world’s leading education and research institutions, with specialist resources that are among the best globally. Following a brand new identity, Roundhouse Digital created a unique, differentiated site, which delivers impact through high quality photography, and cutting edge design and build.
Showcasing World-Class Alumni
The School of Textiles and Design was established in 1883 to lead the textile industry in training and education. The site showcases the School’s notable alumni, which includes Mary Portas, Jasper Conran, Vivienne Westwood, and Zandra Rhodes, as well as providing a high quality framework to show the portfolio work of current students, staff, and academic research.
Full Service Approach
Our sister company, The Roundhouse was commissioned to develop new, unique identity specifically for the School. This is highly impactful, with the transparency through the lettering allowing background imagery to show through, subtly changing the colour system for the brand. The site was developed with a mobile-first approach, and has clarity in terms of usability and user journeys, for the various key audience groups.
The Whole Package
Our sister company, Roundhouse Pictures developed the photography for the site, which brings the campus and activities to life. The School is very active, and news pages are therefore designed to be updated regularly, and searchable through a filter solution. The site also features video showreels and news updates, with films continuing to be created by Roundhouse Pictures.
